Social Development

Objectives

In addition to being a professional Producing and Receiving House, Joburg Promusica wishes to position itself as a social development resource to the community. In so-doing, it aims to achieve the following objectives:

• Become a central feature of development in the Region and the City
• Provide exposure to the performing arts to people from disadvantaged backgrounds, through the provision of subsidized access and transport
• Provide edutainment programming solutions to various educational institutions and the City
• Through our tuition schemes, provide a much needed addition to community education
• Develop an incubator for local emerging artists that will enhance their talents as well as their ability to market and sell their work
• Provide access for the community to education and resources
• Provide a platform for local emerging artists to debut and promote their work
• Ensure that local artists from across the community have access to an affordable venue within which to produce, perform and promote their work
